### Wired Banking End Customer Verification and PND
After successfully registering, the customer is expected to log into their account using their username and password to access their account and perform transactions.
However, if it is their first time logging in after registration, a one-time verification is done to confirm they are the rightful owner of the account. An OTP is sent to them via SMS. They are to enter this OTP to authenticate. Hereafter, they will be taken directly to the dashboard where they can begin transacting.
In some cases, customers may be unable to receive SMS due to DND (Do Not Disturb) settings by NCC on some mobile numbers, which will prevent the customer from receiving SMS.
We then introduce USSD OTP verification. This enables the customer to dial *7006*80*00# to verify their account once dialed on the registered phone number.
- At the first dial, it returns "OTP verified successfully" with OTP ****. ( customer can return to the app and login )
- On the next dial, it may return "Your account is on PND" or "Waiting verification or approval". ( Account is approved and customer is attempting to transact and account not in good standing)
**Awaiting Approval**: Means the account is under manual approval and will need approval from the institution or customer care.
**PND**: Post No Debit, which means the account can receive payments but cannot debit.
If the customer is using the app to transact, they will be able to log in, see transaction history, and monitor their current balance or investment.
However, if the customer attempts to use the USSD code while the account is under PND, the menu will not display. This is because the USSD will attempt to debit a session fee and encounter an error due to the restriction on the account.
This restriction can be removed or overridden by the institution under Customer Management => Customer Restriction Model.
